All proceeds go to deserving students who need a helping hand to pursue their dreams of earning a college degree. We've seen first-hand how student lives can be powerfully impacted through financial assistance, which symbolizes the faith others place in their ability to succeed.
PAST EVENTS
Back-to-school Supply Drive
The Cecil K. and Leroy J. Watkins foundation partnered with the Bedford Stuyvesant YMCA to sponsor a back-to-school supply drive. Their goal was to assist struggling parents who are unable to provide the basic school supplies their children need to be effective. Over 2,500 school supplies were distributed to deserving families in Brooklyn, New York.
Community Health Fair
The Cecil K. and Leroy J. Watkins foundation sponsored a Community Health Fair in partnership with ELK Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Harlem United was one of the vendors who provided free dental treatment to community residents from their mobile unit.
Aid for Africa Charity Bowling Event
The Cecil K. and Leroy J. Watkins foundation sponsored an Aid for Africa Charity Bowling Event and Sports Memorabilia Auction at Chelsea Piers in New York City. The event promoted philanthropy and educated individuals on the charitable efforts of several organizations that provide direct care and services to youth and women primarily in the areas of Education, Poverty Relief and Health Care.
