God Bless Your Achoo!

Spring has sprung, which means allergy season is here!

This is certainly the case for me – I have a serious allergy to pollen. What's great is that what I take for my allergies - quercetin, nettles, vitamin C - have potential effects against COVID-19. Quercetin Quercetin is a plant flavonoid and considered a natural antihistamine. Additionally, quercetin is a potential effective antiviral against certain SARS strains. Research shows that Quercetin blocks the entry of the SARS virus into the cells of mice. Nettles Nettles has major anti-inflammatory properties. And, an ingredient found in nettles protects mice from a lethal infection of a SARS strain. Vitamin C We all know that Vitamin C enhances immunity, but it also lowers histamine levels. Vitamin C helps our body fight off infections, and we recover quicker. There's something else about vitamin C. It's an antioxidant so it counters oxidative damage incurred by inflammatory illnesses. The AANP, American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, has even made an official statement urging physicians and hospitals to utilize IV vitamin C to combat COVID-19 for high-risk and hospitalized patients. For us at home, we can supplement regularly (1000 mg 2-3x per day or until bowel tolerance). I wish that you are well and finding time for self-care during this time.
