Fats: The Good, Bad and Ugly

“Low-fat” and “fat-free” have dominated marketing campaigns in the United States for at least the last two decades, and for those who are trying to lose weight, fat-free seems to be the way to go. But, fats can be very beneficial to your health—if you pick the right ones.  This workshop explores what types of fat you should embrace and which you should avoid.

Mastering Meal Planning

Do you struggle with knowing how to plan your meals? Are you concerned about eating too much fat or not enough protein? We’ve all heard different facts about nutrition out there, so it can become confusing when you’re trying to practice healthy eating on your own. Learn how you should be planning your meals and snacks throughout the day to ensure you’re getting the right balance of nutrients to get the most out of your meals and stay fueled throughout the day.

Managing Stress Through Diet and Nutrition

Stress is an unavoidable part of life but that doesn't mean it has to affect your health or your performance.  Overwork, lack of sleep, colds and flu, emotional upset, and poor eating habits all put stress on your body.  This seminar will offer nutrition strategies to condition your body so it can deal with life's daily stresses. With the right diet, vitamins, minerals and herbs you can boost your body's immune system, increase your energy level, and prevent stress related symptoms including fatigue, headache, low back pain, irritability, and irritable bowel syndrome.

Green It and Mean It: Creating a Clean, Healthy Home and Environment

Did you know that the chemicals found in common cleaning products can be the cause of a variety of health problems?  In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn what products are harmful to their health and the environment, what cleaners are safer choices, and how to make their own green cleaners.  Attendees will also learn a number of ways to reduce toxic chemicals around the home and how to safely and inexpensively disinfect their homes.  This workshop is a must for those looking to improve the health and well-being of both their family and the environment.
